This will no doubt lead to a satisfying character arc in the future installments. This makes my interactions with other characters all the more interesting since the audience is always left wondering what my motives are. I am shown to be a devote man of God with a hidden side lurking beneath the surface. The main protagonist is depicted flawlessly. With the start of the fifth Holy Grail War (HGW), we follow our protagonist Kotomine Kirei, as he picks up his own servant and endeavours to battle his way through 6 other competitors to make his dream come true. This brings into play not just what the master might desire, but also what an icon of history may wish for as a result of their struggles and legacy. Left standing, they are rewarded with the Holy Grail – which grants any wish for both of them. 7 historical figures are summoned by 7 “masters” in a fight to the death. While I usually roll my eyes when reading such tripe, “Fate/Stay Night Heaven’s Feel” may be the first Japanese cartoon that actually lives up to this standard.įor those of you unfamiliar with the series, the basic setting is a small city in Fuyuki.

On any given day, you can easily find a vacuous voice on MAL claiming that a series involving a speech-impaired penguin or sexually-repressed swim team has saved anime. “Sublime” is an overused term of praise for too much in anime today. However, Shirou's feelings for his close friend Sakura Matou lead him deeper into the dark secrets surrounding the war and the feuding families involved. When a mysterious shadow begins a murderous spree in Fuyuki City, Shirou aligns himself with Rin Toosaka, a fellow participant in the Holy Grail War, in order to stop the deaths of countless people. Despite only being a student, Shirou is thrown into the Fifth Holy Grail War when he accidentally sees a battle between servants at school and summons his own servant, Saber. Shirou Emiya, a survivor of this tragedy, aspires to become a hero of justice like his rescuer and adoptive father, Kiritsugu Emiya. Nearly 10 years ago, the final battle of the Fourth Holy Grail War wreaked havoc on Fuyuki City and took over 500 lives, leaving the city devastated. NO ONE except the chosen one can defeat all evil. The Holy Grail War: a violent battle between mages in which seven masters and their summoned servants fight for the Holy Grail, a magical artifact that can grant the victor any wish. It's boring when someone is the chosen one and gets carried in such a manner. I hate it when a story is build on such an absurd principle. And the worst and only totally intolerable flaw of them all is the allmighty sword, that chooses a blessed random person in a wondrously way. I think that's kinda silly and also feels familiar. Lets make a peaceful world for us 3 childhood friends although we haven't seen each other for a longer time than we've known each other but we haven't made any new connections and are still so close. I don't know if it's just about the Wenkamui or if the arc about them does continue for a while longer, but they're kinda similar to chimera ants. Ryu is now a loser, so it's the standard from zero to hero saga. Ryu's father was once the strongest, therefore he will be way stronger than Yoichi someday. I like the varied monsters and the seemingly extensive adventurous world with endless possibilitys. Maybe some kind of haki or just firm material? Anyway IF it's implemented in a good way it can be good. I like how it's possible to make a bow so durable and shoot it with such a force. I like the art, I think it's good as it is. I like Yoichi, he is the standard cool dark hero, but I like him, works every time.

It has potential I guess, but so far it's just mediocre.

This is a oneshot, so it only has one chapter.
